Welcome!

Welcome and thanks for stopping by! I've been wanting to start a blog for a while, but was struggling to find the right name and my original idea was already taken. Grrr. So back to the drawing board I went. I knew some of the content I planned on including on my blog... cooking, cleaning, craft ideas, and of course my pups. I didn't want to be tied to a specific theme, so you may find some other random thoughts and ideas thrown in from time to time. Finally I settled on "Rebecca's Daily Recap" in the hopes this would make me actually write everyday. We'll see how things go.

To start things off, let me introduce you to my pups.... 

Leo is my first born baby. He is an 8 year-old dachshund I rescued from the Houston Humane Society in 2006. Life has never been the same since. He is actually pretty subdued and likes to sleep and be lazy. Except when we have visitors... then all he wants to do is bark incessantly. And it doesn't matter if this is the first time he's meeting you or if you've been over 150 times before. Leo is an equal opportunity barker. He makes everyone feel welcome and loved. I truly think the barking is his way of saying "sit down and pet me already!"

And then there is Ava. Ava is beautiful and precious and sweet... but she is also a spaz. Ava came to live with us almost a year ago. She was dumped near a friend's house and found her way into their backyard. But they couldn't keep her. Fortunately I'm a sucker for a cute puppy face, had room in my house, and Leo liked her... the rest is history. The vet estimated she was some type of dachshund mix and about 4 months old when they found her, so she is about 15 months old now. Still a puppy, hence the earlier spaz comment. But we love her anyway.
