Wisconsin: The Kettle Moraine State Forest

I've been visiting Wisconsin since I was a small child, but I rarely visit any of the touristy attractions. So this year, I wanted to visit at least one new place while I was there. I decided to visit the Kettle Moraine State Forest since it is just around the corner from Eagle, WI, where my folks live.

The forest is HUGE and has numerous trails available for hiking, biking, horse riding, and skiing. Being that I was on vacation, I did not have access to a bike, horse, or skis, so I was left with choosing a hiking trail to visit.

The Stony Ridge nature trail is a one-mile trail through the forest behind the forest headquarters. Throughout the trail there are educational signs describing the  geological features of the Kettle Moraine area. It was actually quite interesting; however, since I wasn't there to learn, I can't recall much of what the signs said. Oops. BUT... I did remember to take pictures of the trail...
