Wisconsin: The Cow Goes Moo

In 2010, my dad and stepmom decided to abandon beach life in Galveston, Texas in favor of snowy winters lasting 8 months and almost non-existent summers in Wisconsin. They now live in a little town, actually a village, called Eagle. It is kind of out in the country at the edge of the Kettle Moraine State Forest and surrounded by tons of farmland. I recently visited their sleepy little abode and experienced some of the joys of life in Wisconsin...

Custard... kind of like ice cream, but 5,000 times better. In fact it's so good, I couldn't remember to take a picture until I'd already devoured half of it.

Christmas trees in everyday life. Where are the twinkle lights and ornaments?

Trees that change color in the fall. A miracle of nature that does not occur in Houston.

And cow feeding time. This is probably my favorite picture from the trip. My dad and I were driving into to town one morning and probably 200 hundred cows were hightailing it in for breakfast. Ah... small town life.
